SynergyDesk is seeking an experienced Business Development professional to lead the development and growth of our company. This position will be responsible for all aspects of strategy and campaign development and execution, as well as generating sales leads.

Following are key responsibilities and accountabilities of the position:

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the company’s vision and strategy
  • Support the company’s short, medium, and long-term profitability goals
  • Liaise with other managers on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans
  • Develop, review, and report on the business development strategy, ensuring that strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team

We have an immediate opening for a highly skilled and self-motivated Senior VB.Net Developer with a demonstrable background in building scalable, intuitive, interface-rich, high-quality and high-performance Windows Forms applications.

This role will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle—from requirements gathering through development, testing, and end user support. Working alongside the chief architect, this individual will be a key member of the company.

The successful candidate will possess the following traits:

This role will be responsible for the following:

  • Application development (Windows Forms) utilizing the Microsoft .Net Framework
  • Creating and maintaining Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Rapid, agile application development, sustainment, and support
  • Implementation of best practices
  • Interfacing with clients
  • Product demonstrations
  • Product deployments
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and concepts
  • Exhibiting exceptional communication skills
  • Minimal travel (i.e. short trips to Calgary and Saskatoon)

The successful candidate will have demonstrable competence in the following skills, technologies, and platforms:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Microsoft VB.Net (experience using C# is acceptable, however, the individual will need to demonstrate aggressive progress transitioning to VB.Net)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Competency in interface design
  • 3+ years of application development experience

The following skills, technologies, and platforms are not considered mandatory, however, a candidate will have an advantage in being able to demonstrate competency in any of them:

  • Experience using Developer Express controls
  • Experience implementing the MVP code pattern
  • Experience using SQL schema / data compare tools
  • Experience using RedGate Smart Assembly (or other obfuscation product)
  • Experience developing web applications using ASP.Net
  • Experience utilizing or developing ERP, inventory management, point-of-sales, or financial applications
